Literacy Missions
Prestonwood Literacy Missions is reaching the nations right here in Plano by teaching conversational English as a Second Language (ESL) to those with limited English, providing a wonderful way to share the love of Jesus Christ and the life-changing message of the Gospel with people who have come from all over the world. In addition to the language lessons, each student learns important cultural skills. Bibles are provided in each student’s native language, and devotionals and prayer are a part of every lesson. As a new addition to Prestonwood Literacy Missions, Spanish as a Second Language (SSL) classes are offered each week as well. These classes teach conversational Spanish with an emphasis on how to share the Gospel in that language.
Volunteers are needed in each of these areas to teach, assist, or register adults for these classes. Fluency in another language is not required, with the exception of SSL volunteers, who should speak Spanish.
