Brazil (Amazon)

A few years ago, Prestonwood began a partnership with Amazon Outreach to send mission teams to the remote villages along Amazon River and its tributaries.  Since then hundreds of Prestonwood members have participated in Vacation Bible Schools, provided medical/dental care, built churches, organized men's/women's ministry groups, drilled water wells and more to reach this region for Christ.  Longtime member of Prestonwood, Johnson Ellis said, “There is a need and a place for you!”  We currently work in two regions along the Amazon River.

Parintins (city)

Parintins, a city of around 100,000 people, is known throughout Brazil for the annual pagan festival held in the center of the city.  More than 40 Cruise ships drop anchor in Parintins during the festival, creating a festive environment throughout the city.  However, when all is said and done, this city remains one of the poorest in the nation.
